The Royal Life Saving Drowning report 2018 shows:
- 249 drowning deaths occurred in Australia in 2017/18
- 72% of the drownings were male
- 33 fatalities occurred in swimming pools
The report highlights that a major contributing factor is a lack of supervision - and it shows that nothing replaces capable adult supervision in pools
